CalFeed interviewed StartupLucky.com to find about their show and to see how they go about building an audience.

Tell us about the background of those involved with StartupLucky.com.

We've interviewed startup CEO's, National best selling book authors, Venture Capitalists, Angel Investors. A few people on the list are, Guy Kawasaki, Tony Hsieh (Zappos CEO) , Chris Brogan, Melanie Notkin (Savvy Auntie), Richard Laermer, David Meerman Scott and many more.

Tell us about your show. What is it called and what are you trying to do?

Our show is startupLUCKY: Our mission is to connect startups with investors around the globe as quickly & efficiently as possible.

How hard is it to get guests onto your show? How do you reach the people you want to interview?

It's really not hard at all, people love being interviewed and it's an excellent way to get your word out and connect with potential customers, business partners, & investors. We have a "Request an Interview" page on the site. I also reach out to interesting folks on Twitter and Facebook.

Who is the audience for your show? Who's watching it?

Entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, students, PR professionals, marketing professionals, investors for the most part.

We noticed that your show seems to come on at some what random times. How do people find out when your show is on?

Actually most shows are Tues-Friday at 4pm EST. However we've been squeezing in a few extra shows here and there.

How do you get the word out about your show? What specifically do you do to let people know about it?

Well we spend alot of time on Twitter & Facebook. We have awesome relationships with PR professionals and the viral nature of video helps spread the word. Also, we try to really be relaxed and have fun with it. This gives people a reason to come back and tell their networks about the show.

If someone wanted to create a web show (let's say about, promoting virtual events), what advice would you give them?

My advice would be to get started today. You are gonna suck at first and you will make mistakes. This is the essence of starting up Keep moving forward and just try to do things a little bit better every day. Ask people how the show could be better and take action on the good stuff. Always, always be yourself and keep it real.
