Accurately performing pharmaceutical calculations is a critical component in providing patient care in every pharmacy practice environment and a vital part of any pharmacy technicians’ duty. Although most pharmaceutical calculations are not overly difficult, they do require flawless accuracy. Correct calculations contribute as much to patient outcomes as the newest methods and guidelines for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention; and errors in calculations can turn the best attempts at optimal patient care catastrophic. This session will present an overview of pharmacy calculations for technicians.
